On a seemingly unrelated note, I am fostering my first dog on Saturday. She is coming from a shelter where her and several other dogs were placed on a list to be euthanized. Their crime? Simply no more room at the shelter. My heart breaks when I hear these stories and I’ve been wanting to foster for quite some time now. I’m also very nervous!
I have two six-year-old dogs who have been with me through thick and thin. They are complex characters who have experienced a lot in their lives but have never had a lack of affection or love. They are my soul mates. I would do anything for these pups and now I want to share that love with another dog.
To go along with the theme, I began reading “A Dog’s Purpose” by W. Bruce Cameron. I didn’t even know about this book until I saw preview for the movie. The preview instantly brought tears to my eyes. Anything animal related always tugs at my heart-strings. I’m not sure what to expect (other than ooey gooey cuteness) but it’s about a dog who is reincarnated several times. The dog goes on a journey to figure out the meaning of his life while also helping his various humans. I will report back with comments but it may take a while to get through it as I am currently also reading four other books. What is WRONG with me?!
Below is a peek at my dogs enjoying books. Big readers, they are!
