The world is full of divine books. I found a book with Edgar Allan Poe’s letters. It is a first edition of which there are only 1550 copies and only 1500 were for sale. I found number 332 and it was published in 1925. This baby was a cool $45 but entirely worth the cost! Now I not only have the opportunity to see Poe’s handwriting but also learn more about his inner turmoil. He was destitute and starving for so much of his life. The letters are mainly written to his adoptive father, John Allan, begging for money. John Allan gives in to the requests for money but it appears that he eventually gives up on Poe and stops responding altogether. Woe is Poe!
